La réforme monétaire de 1892 modifia l'unité monétaire qui devint la korona, divisée en 100 fillers. Ce type fut seulement frappé en 1907 et 1908 à l'occasion du quarantième anniversaire de la double monarchie et du couronnement de François-Joseph Ier comme roi de Hongrie.

Historical background



Franz Joseph I (18/08/1830-21/11/1916) is the son of Archduke Francis Charles and Sophie of Bavaria. He succeeded his uncle Ferdinand I of Austria in 1848 in the middle of European revolution. His throne wobbles in Hungary, Bohemia in Milan and Venice. With authority he restored order and will rule on the fate of "Mitteleuropa" for 68 years. He is King of Hungary from 1867, it is the Dual Monarchy. He married in 1854 Elisabeth of Bavaria (1837-1898), more known as Sissi. Their only son Rudolf (1858-1890) committed suicide with his mistress at Mayerling in 1890. The Empress Sissi was assassinated in Geneva in 1898. His nephew Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo June 28, 1914 with his wife, detonator of World War. The old emperor died in 1916 before the collapse of his empire two years later.
