Exemplaire sur un flan irrégulier avec les grènetis visibles. Portrait d’Hélène de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers de style fin. Patine vert noir avec des reflets métalliques

C’est l’une des dernières émissions d’Hélène pour l’atelier de Trèves. Bandeau métallique perlé. Collier de perles à double rang.

Wife of Constantius I, mother of Constantine I - Augusta
Helena, mother of Constantine and first wife of Constantius Chlorus, received the title of augusta in 324. After the death of Fausta and Crispus, she went to the Holy Land. In Jerusalem, she discovered remains of the true cross and founded many institutions. She died in 328, was sanctified and entered in the calendar.
