Commentary

Cet exemplaire de la classe Ia est particulièrement complet au revers ; le taureau très bien visible avec la queue et les différentes pattes bien différenciées. Cette classe Ia semble toujours avoir une orientation des moules à 9 heures.
This class Ia specimen is particularly complete on the reverse; the bull is very clearly visible with its tail and different legs clearly differentiated. This class Ia always seems to have a mold orientation at 9 o'clock

Historical background

HIGH AND MIDDLE SEINE

(2nd - 1st century BC)

Under this term are brought together two large distinct but homogeneous groups, and an isolated potin. A few years ago, all of these coins would have been attributed to the Leuques without a shadow of hesitation. It is the systematic reclassification of emissions that now makes it possible to provide a different hypothesis.
