Commentary

Ces potins sont toujours mal venus, mais cet exemplaire est dans un état convenable, surtout au revers. Le droit est du même type que les potins dits au taureau et au lis !.
This gossip is always unwelcome, but this example is in decent condition, especially on the reverse. The obverse is of the same type as the so-called bull and lily gossip!

Historical background

HIGH AND MIDDLE SEINE

(2nd - 1st century BC)

Under this term are brought together two large distinct but homogeneous groups, and an isolated potin. A few years ago, all of these coins would have been attributed to the Leuques without a shadow of hesitation. It is the systematic reclassification of emissions that now makes it possible to provide a different hypothesis.
