Reverse description : Écu festonné couronné, écartelé aux 1 et 4, contre-écartelé en a et d de France et en b et c d'Angleterre, au 2 d'Écosse, au 3 d'Irlande ; sur le tout petit écu de Nassau.
Reverse translation : (roi et reine de de Grande-Bretagne, de France et d'Irlande).

Commentary


Pour Guillaume et Marie, les pièces furent seulement fabriquées en 1691, 1693 et 1694. Certains exemplaires ont un petit éléphant sous les bustes.

(1688-1694)

Guillaume III (1650-1702) is the son of Guillaume II of Orange and Marie, sister of Charles II. He married Mary Stuart (1662-1694), daughter of James II (1685-1688). After the revolution of 1688, Marie became queen and her husband, already prince of Orange, king of England. After the death of his wife from smallpox, he remained King until his death in 1702..
