(03/13/1892-11/10/1918)

Ernest-Louis (25/11/1866-9/10/1937) is the son of Louis IV of Hesse and Alice of Saxe-Coburg. He is the grandson of Victoria I of England and the brother of Alix, the wife of Nicolas II. He married in 1894 Victoria-Mélita, the daughter of Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, whom he divorced in 1901 and in second marriage Éléonore de Solms. He abdicated in 1918. After his death in 1937, his whole family was killed in a plane crash.
