Maximilian II (28/11/1811-10/03/1864) was the son of Ludwig I of Bavaria and Thérèse Charlotte-Louise of Saxe-Altenburg. He married Marie de Prussia (1825-1889) in 1842 and had two sons, Louis II and Othon, who both died mad.
