Patine hétérogène avec des taches d’oxydation. Traces de manipulation sur l’émail. Un diamant manquant, et poussière au revers

Obverse description : Pélican se perçant le sein dans un médaillon émaillé et protégé d’un cercle sertie de pierres brillantes type diamant, au centre d’une croix rayonnante, sertie à ses bouts par des diamant blanc et verts .

Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Reverse description : Rose sur la croix entouré par des feuilles d’acacia dans un médaillon émaillé.

Dimensions : 67*95 mm. (Dimensions sans la couronne : 67*74 mm)
Ce bijou présente quelques défauts, entre autre quelques diamants aplatie au niveau de la couronne. Nous n’avons pas pu récupérer la boîte d’origine et il manque le diamant au bout à droite. La couronne légèrement détachée à gauche. La croix reste globalement bien conservée, notamment les diamants autour de l’émail, qui restent brillants et en bon état de conservation. Poinçons visibles sur la bélière mais difficilement identifiable.

We were unable to recover the original box, and the diamond at the far right is missing. The crown is slightly detached on the left. The cross is generally well-preserved, particularly the diamonds around the enamel, which remain brilliant and in good condition. Hallmarks are visible on the bail but difficult to identify.

The compass and the square are very often associated in an ambivalent symbol of balance: fixity and mobility, passive and active, matter and spirit.. The compass is the tool of the Creator and of the great Architect of the Universe. The spacing of the branches of the compass obeys precise rules and varies according to the three degrees: apprentice, companion, master. The Napoleonic era, in the activity of lodges as in that of many groups, saw a flowering after the terrible years of the revolutionary period. Masonic activity, rid of its republican theories and firmly controlled by a Grand-Master appointed by the Emperor, experienced a vigor in unity never found since.. It is considered that each regiment, each garrison, each city had its Lodge. The testimonies that the sumptuous tokens of the period leave us show that these lodges were rich and influential.. The symbolism is sought after, without comparison with the later eras, which were much more conventional, even bland or destitute at the beginning of the 20th century.. Freemasonry had more than a thousand lodges spread over one hundred and thirty departments and more than sixty thousand Brothers.
