In such a euphoria, the economic crisis born in October 1929 causes real economic paralysis created seven million unemployed in two years. Roosevelt's election in 1932 overcomes the crisis interventionist policy "New Deal" but reduces the influence of the U.S. in world politics while Europe is sinking into totalitarian regimes.
