Le Merchant’s Exchange building situé dans Wall Street est l’ancêtre de l’actuel New York Stock Exchange. Cet immeuble fut détruit le 16 et 17 décembre 1835 dans le “Grand Incendie de New York”. Cet incendie détruisit entre 530 et 700 bâtiments et fut maîtrisé grâce à un bombardement naval..
The Merchant's Exchange building on Wall Street is the forerunner of today's New York Stock Exchange. This building was destroyed on December 16 and 17, 1835, in the Great Fire of New York. This fire destroyed between 530 and 700 buildings and was brought under control by a naval bombardment.
