Commentary

This weight is used to control the double shield of Charles Quint (1516-1556). The marks on the reverse allow us to identify its origin, namely Lyon (D topped with a lily), as well as the crowned IO mark which could correspond to Jacques Olive (1636-1663) or his widow, Claudine Olive (1663-1672), balances of Lyon
