Commentary
Nous n’avons aucune information sur la destination de ce flan malgré des recherches dans le World Coins et dans le Lecompte afin de voir de quel pays ou de quelle ex-colonie française il aurait pu servir à frapper des monnaies. Le millésime est malheureusement totalement illisible mais, comme le coin fait penser à un coin de 5 francs Semeuse en argent, on peut émettre l’hypothèse selon laquelle la frappe daterait du début du type en nickel. Frappe casquette qui a malencontreusement décapité Marianne. Un exemplaire semblable, vendu dans MONNAIES XXVIII n° 1890, a réalisé 652 euros sur une offre maximum à 988 euros.

The date is unfortunately completely illegible but, as the die is reminiscent of a 5 franc Semeuse silver die, we can hypothesize that the strike dates from the beginning of the nickel type. Cap strike which unfortunately decapitated Marianne. A similar example, sold in MONNAIES XXVIII n° 1890, realized 652 euros on a maximum bid of 988 euros
