Exemplaire sur un flan large, mince et bombé, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec le grènetis visibles au droit. Très belle tête de Zeus au droit avec l’inscription visible. Joli revers de style fin. Magnifique patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

The site of Olympia was in the territory of the city of Elis. Zeus was worshiped in the sanctuary. A chryselephantine statue of the god, sculpted by Phidias, decorated the temple dedicated to him. It is possible that the coinage was inspired by the gigantic ivory and gold statue of the god.
