Commentary

This potin is more likely to be found among Durocasses, particularly with SNIA bronzes. This potin was also published by B. Fischer in the excavations of Fort Harrouard which would have been identified as the manufacturing workshop

Historical background

DUROCASSIS (Area of Dreux)

(2nd - 1st century BC)

The Durocasses are not cited by Caesar in the Gallic Wars. They seem to have emancipated themselves from Carnut tutelage quite late, like the Parisii from that of the Senones. Their name means "the warriors of the fortified hill"..
