Obverse description : La République, la tête tournée à gauche, tenant de la main droite un faisceau de licteur, de la main gauche une pique sommée d'un bonnet phrygien ; la République repose sur un socle portant une main de justice, un miroir, une balance et un serpent ; au-dessous MAURISSET..

Commentary

La médaille est présentée avec son boîtier et accompagnée de son ruban d’origine.
Des médailles des avoués et des huissiers du tribunal de première instance sont également connues (Coll. Julius n° 1028-1029) pour la période 1801-1802. D'après Forrer, Jean Théodore Maurisset, auteur de cette médaille, grava en 1800 une médaille pour la Cour d'appel, en 1805 une médaille pour la visite à Paris de Pie VII et une autre médaille pour le tribunal de première instance mais cette fois-ci avec le millésime 1805.
The medal is presented with its case and accompanied by its original ribbon. Medals for attorneys and bailiffs of the court of first instance are also known (Coll. Julius n° 1028-1029) for the period 1801-1802. According to Forrer, Jean Théodore Maurisset, author of this medal, engraved in 1800 a medal for the Court of Appeal, in 1805 a medal for the visit to Paris of Pius VII and another medal for the court of first instance but this time with the date 1805
