Exemplaire sur un petit flan mince, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait particulier. Joli revers de style fin. Recouvert d’une fine patine grise avec des reflets dorés. A été légèrement nettoyé

Obverse description : Tête laurée de Domitien à droite (O*).
Obverse translation : "Imperator Cæsar Domitianus Augustus Germanicus Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia Potestate tertium decimum”, (L’empereur césar Domitien auguste germanique grand pontife revêtu de la treizième puissance tribunitienne).

Reverse description : Athéna Alkidémos casquée, vêtue du chiton avec l’égide flottant au vent marchant à droite, brandissant une javeline de la main droite et un bouclier de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : "Imperator duovicesimus Consul sextum decimum Censor Perpetuus Pater Patriæ", (revêtu de la vingt-deuxième salutation impériale consul pour la seizième fois censeur perpétuel père de la patrie).

Augustus
Domitian, born in 51, became august in 81, succeeding his brother. In 86, the Capitoline games were organized for the first time. The Flavian Palace is erected on the Palatine. In 88, the secular games were celebrated with pomp. A first campaign is launched on Dacia which ends with a peace of compromise, leaving Decebalus master of the situation. Domitian has just won a brilliant campaign against the Sarmatians and the Suevi (IMP XXII). Agricola died in disgrace on August 23, 93. In 95, Domitian had Flavius Clemens, his cousin, executed. The following year, Domitian will be assassinated at the instigation of his wife and the prefect of the Praetorium.
