Double tournois frappé sur un flan court et irrégulier. Importantes usures et faiblesses de frappe sur les deux faces. Fines concrétions brunes. Patine grise sombre

Obverse description : Trois lis posés 2 et 1, une brisure au centre (armes de Bourbon en plein champ et un lion dans le partie supérieure de la brisure), le tout dans un double trilobe.

Commentary

Un double tournois similaire est illustré dans le tome III de l’ouvrage de Faustin Poey d’Avant (1862). Jean-Paul Divo n’a jamais retrouvé ce double tournois qu’il pense fautivement être un denier tournois et indique “on peut se poser la question de son existence réelle”. Un point sur le monnayage de Pierre II de Bourbon a été fait à partir de quatre documents d’archives inédits de la fin du XVe siècle, cf. A. Clairand et C. Vellet, “Quatre documents méconnus relatifs au monnayage des seigneurs de Trévoux (1483-1489)”, Cahiers Numismatiques, décembre 2004.
A similar double tournois is illustrated in volume III of Faustin Poey d'Avant's work (1862).
