Reverse description : Securitas (la Sécurité) debout à droite, les jambes croisées, tournée à droite, portant sa main droite à la tête et le coude gauche appuyé sur une colonne.

Reverse translation : “Securitas Perpetua”, (La Sécurité perpétuelle).

Commentary

Poids lourd. Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Ptéryges ornés de motifs décoratifs (louve allaitant Rémus et Romulus). Même coin de revers que les exemplaires du trésor de Fresnoy-lès-Roye n° 1254, Bastien, n° 359 pl. XVIII de la collection Voetter du Kunsthistorisches Museum (n° 67.199), Bastien n° 260, pl. XVIII, liaison de coin que n’avait pas remarqué Pierre Bastien en 1972. C’est le septième exemplaire publié. Prendra le numéro 262d dans le Supplément III. L’exemplaire de la collection de Daniel Compas, MONNAIES XXVII, n° 193 s’est vendu 280€ avec quatre offres sur une estimation de 180/280€.
Heavyweight. With all its surface silvering. Type 3 ribbons with rounded ends. Pteryges decorated with decorative motifs (she-wolf suckling Remus and Romulus). Same reverse die as the examples from the Fresnoy-lès-Roye treasure no. 1254, Bastien, no. 359 pl. XVIII of the Voetter collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum (no. 67.199), Bastien no. 260, pl. XVIII, die linkage that Pierre Bastien had not noticed in 1972. This is the seventh example published. Will take number 262d in Supplement III.
