He is the son of Aymar V and Marguerite de Vergy. On December 3, 1340, the King of France Philippe VI established him as Lieutenant General of Languedoc. In 1345, he left for Guyenne to face the English. He was killed or died on October 23, 1345 after the Battle of Auberoche.
