Cet exemplaire présente un grènetis très fin et très serré. Ce type de grènetis se rencontre principalement sur les monnaies frappées sous Louis VII (1137-1180) et Philippe Auguste (1180-1123).

The first coins of Sancerre would have been produced under Stephen I (1152-1190) who was the only count of Sancerre to sign his coins. The coins minted between 1190 and 1327 are anonymous and therefore pose many dating problems..
