Flan large et frappe vigoureuse, avec des éclatements de flan. Agréable patine sombre et homogène. Droit relativement centré, mais revers très incomplet !

Droit typique de la classe I. Le revers est particulièrement en reliefs, mais malheureusement très décentré. Ce type est décrit “au nez pointé” dans le Nouvel Atlas.

Coriosolites (Region Corseul, Cotes d'Armor)

(Second - first century BC)

The Coriosolites were a Armorican people, located in the present department of Côtes-d'Armor. They had for neighbors Osismes, the Venetians, the Namnètes and suction drains. It was a seafaring people whose main port seems to have been Alet. Their name is still preserved in that of Corseul. They played an important role in trade with the island Britain, participated in the campaign of 57 BC and were submitted by Crassus. The following year, they still participated in the revolt led by the Armorican Veneti with Unelles and Lexovii, all crushed by Caesar. In 52 BC, the Coriosolites participated in the quota of twenty thousand men that Armoricans sent to clear Vercingetorix, besieged in Alesia. Caesar (Bg. II, 34, III, 7, 11, VII, 75).
