Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle pour ce type sur un flan large et bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis complets. Très beau portrait particulier. Joli revers. Belle patine gris foncé avec des reflets métalliques marron glacé. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Caesar

Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
