Exemplaire bien centré à l’usure régulière. Joli revers. La monnaie présente de légères faiblesses

Obverse description : Buste du Christ de face, portant le nimbe crucigère, vêtu du pallium et du colombium, la main droite bénissante et tenant de la main gauche les Évangiles.
Obverse translation : (Jésus-Christ roi des rois).


Reverse legend : CONSTANT' CE ROMAN' AYGG B R'N .
Reverse description : Bustes vus à mi-corps de Constantin VII à gauche et de Romain II à droite ; ils sont couronnés, Constantin porte le loros et Romain la chlamyde ; ils tiennent tous deux la croix patriarcale bouletée.
Reverse translation : (Constantin et Romain augustes rois des Romains).

Constantine VII and Romanus II (6/04/945-9/11/959)

Constantine VII was born in 905 in purple that recalls his nickname. Emperor in 913, he will reign alone until 944. Roman I, associated with the empire since 920, was deposed by his two surviving son Stephen and Constantine 16 December 944. The two co-emperors were in turn eliminated by Constantine VII 27 January 945. The son of Leo VI reigns alone for the first time since 913. April 6, 945, he enlists his son, Romanus II, who succeeded him at his death and reigned until 963.
