Type 2 ribbons with rounded ends. Seven vertical rows of stones on the reverse in the door, the first of which is formed by loopholes decorated with globules and the last is decorated with globules, which is exceptional. On this example, we note a second tiny globule at the end of the exergue mark.

Historical background

CONSTANTINE II

(1/03/317-04/340)

Caesar

Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
