Exemplaire sur un flan parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Beau portrait inhabituel de Constantin II César. Joli revers de style fin. Magnifique patine gris métallique avec des reflets dorés

Caesar

Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
