Commentary
Lightweight. Reverse of the inaugural issue of the Arles workshop, struck at 1/72 L. (theoretical weight 4.51 g) at the beginning of the year 313 before the monetary reform which lowered the weight of the nummus to 1/96 L. Dated 313, the manufacture of this type can be placed between the months of March and May. The reform of copper coinage took place before the summer between May and June 313 and was also marked by the disappearance of Maximin II from Western coinage. This period is still poorly known and deserves a comprehensive study to fill in the gaps in the Roman Imperial Coinage of volumes VI and VII
