Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait de Constantin Ier. Revers de style fin. Très belle patine marron chocolat. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Reverse description : Sol (le Soleil) nu et radié, debout à gauche, le manteau sur l'épaule, levant la main droite et tenant un globe de la gauche.

Poids lourd. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Cuirasse lisse pointée. Épaulière cloutée. Ptéryges larges. Trace de frappe incuse du droit au revers.
Heavyweight. Type 3 ribbons with rounded ends. Smooth pointed cuirass. Studded shoulder guard. Wide pteryges. Incuse strike mark on the right side of the reverse

Augustus

Constantine was born in 274, son of Constance Chlore and Helena. He was named Caesar on the death of his father on July 25, 306 and was proclaimed august on December 25, 307. He married Fausta, the daughter of Maximien Hercule, who gave him five children, three of whom were augusts. The first twenty years of his reign are devoted to imposing himself as the main august against Maximian Hercules, Galerius, Maxentius, Maximin II and Licinius. He is recognized as the first Christian emperor, although baptized only on his deathbed on May 22, 337.
