Obverse description : Buste lauré consulaire de Constantin Ier à droite, tenant le scipio de la main droite vu de trois quarts en avant (H*4).

Reverse description : Autel inscrit surmonté d'un globe et de trois étoiles.
Reverse translation : “Beata Tranquillitas/ Votis vicennalibus”, (L'heureuse Tranquillité/ Vœux pour le vingtième anniversaire de règne).


Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Buste consulaire richement décoré avec la toga picta et la toga palmata. Au revers globe formé d’une croisette évidée cantonnée de deux globules (RMBT p. 97, globe 12).

Constantine was born in 274, son of Constantius and Helena. He was appointed Caesar to the death of his father 25 July 306 and was proclaimed august 25 December 307. He married Fausta, daughter of Maximian, who will give him five children, three august. The first twenty years of his reign are dedicated to become the main august against Maximian, Galerius, Maxentius, Maximin and Licinius II. He is recognized as the first Christian emperor, although baptized only on his deathbed 22 May 337.
