Commentary


Poids léger. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Les ptéryges sont visibles sous le paludamentum. C’est le huitième exemplaire publié et le cinquième photographié. Prendra le numéro 116d dans le Supplément III du Bastien.

CONSTANS

(25/12/335-18/01/350) Flavius Julius Constans

August (9/09/337-18/01-350)

Constans was born in 320 and received the title of Caesar on December 25 333. Augustus after 9 September 337 with his two other brothers, Constantine II, Constantius II, it soon became angry with his older brother who died in April 340. After the death of his brother Constans recovery legacy of Constantine II and was in charge of the West. A maiorina was struck on the occasion of the 1100th anniversary of Rome in 348, recalled by the legend of setbacks "Return of the Happy Time." Constans was murdered at the beginning of the year 350.
