Constantius II was born on August 7 318 Sirmium. It is high césarat 8 November 324 at the age of six years. He will reign thirty-seven years, one of the longest reigns of the fourth century. After crushing the revolt of Magnentius, it is only august with a caesar, Constance Galle, he has performed in 354. November 6, 355, he raises his cousin Julien under Caesar. He went to Rome in 357, then at Sirmium he made it his capital. Before the Sassanid danger, he leaves this region 359 and settled in Antioch. Julien was proclaimed in February august 360. Constance died 3 November 361, leaving Julien at the head of the Empire.
