Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Portrait de toute beauté. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Jolie patine grise avec des reflets métalliques. Conserve son brillant de frappe et son coupant d’origine au droit

Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Constance Ier césar à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A).

Obverse translation : “Flavius Valerius Constantius Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavius Valère Constance très noble césar).

Reverse description : Providentia (la Providence) drapée assise à gauche, tenant un bâton placé au-dessus d’un globe de la main droite et un sceptre long de la main gauche.

Reverse translation : “Providentia Deorum”, (La Providence divine).

Commentary

Poids léger. Avec son argenture superficielle. Ptéryges à peine visibles sous le paludamentum. Nous n’avons pas relevé d’identité de coin pertinente. C’est le neuvième exemplaire recensé. Prendra le numéro 508 e dans le Supplément III du Bastien. C’est la première fois que nous proposons cet aurelianus qui manquait à la collection Compas.
Lightweight. With its superficial silvering. Pteryges barely visible under the paludamentum. We have not noted any relevant die identity. This is the ninth example recorded. Will take the number 508th in Supplement III of Bastien. This is the first time that we have offered this aurelianus which was missing from the Compas collection.
