Commentary
The bust on the obverse of this token is very rare but is an artistic disaster. What is more, the legend is very irregular and it is more than likely that the token is a contemporary fake, probably “to serve” for the accounts. We remain perplexed by the forger’s choice of a reverse subject with the “King’s Council” and it should be noted that Feuardent considers this token to be authentic. It is certainly not from Nuremberg and we do not know who could be its author.
