Commentary
Cette médaille a été décernée au sénateur Jean-Louis Tinaud (1910-1990). Avocat, spécialisé dans le droit international des affaires, il s’engage dans la résistance pendant la seconde guerre mondiale. Il sera décoré de la légion d'honneur et de la croix du combattant volontaire de la résistance. Élu à l’assemblée constituante, conseiller municipal de Pau élu en 1947 ainsi qu’au conseil général des Basses-Pyrénées, il se dirige ensuite vers le Conseil de la République (1951, 1952, 1958 et 1959). Il sera élu sénateur le 26 avril 1959, réélu en 1965 (fin du mandat, le 22 juillet 1969.

He was awarded the Legion of Honor and the Cross of the Voluntary Resistance Fighter. Elected to the Constituent Assembly, elected municipal councilor of Pau in 1947 as well as to the General Council of the Basses-Pyrénées, he then moved to the Council of the Republic (1951, 1952, 1958 and 1959).
