Obverse legend : CHARLES - DE GAULLE - 1890 - 1970 // UN HOMME - UN DESTIN.

Obverse description : Grénetis entourant une légende circulaire. Quatre médaillons avec des motifs variés accompagnés d’une légende, autour d’un motif central : la forme de la France avec une croix de Lorraine entre deux lignes de légende.

Reverse

Reverse legend : L’HOMME DU DESTIN.

Reverse description : Croix de Lorraine sur la lettre V, flanquée de deux étoiles et de la médaille de la légion d’honneur, ainsi que de poinçons (ovale, triangle, caducée et titrage : feuille de chêne 585). Légende circulaire en partie inférieure avec deux épis de blés.

Commentary

Deux médailles conservées dans un coffret rectangulaire vert du club français de la monnaie, inscrit de lettres d’or sur le couvercle : “Un Homme... Un Destin” surmonté de la croix de Lorraine dans un V.

Quatre médaillons figurant un buste de Charles de Gaulle au cours de sa vie, accompagnés de quatre légendes : étudiant, saint-Cyrien, général et président. Poids : 3,51 g. Dimensions : 20,5 mm.

Seconde médaille avec certificat n°55 :
Quatre médaillons accompagnés d’une légende représentant les activités menées par Charles de Gaulle : un micro et “Résistant” pour l’appel à la résistance lancé depuis Londres le 18 juin 1940, l’arc de triomphe et “officier” pour sa carrière militaire, un livre ouvert et “écrivain” pour son activité d’écrivain, et la médaille de la légion d’honneur et “chef de l’état” pour sa fonction de président de la république de 1959 à 1969. Poids : 3,53 g. Dimensions : 20,5 mm.
