Très belle et intéressante médaille avec une patine brune un peu hétérogène

Obverse description : Tête nue de Charles X à droite.

Reverse legend : DIEU ET LE ROI / DONNÉE / AUX HABITANS DE / LA VENDÉE / PAR S. M. /CHARLES DIX.

Reverse description : Légende en 6 lignes dans une couronne de chêne et de lauriers.

Commentary

Médaille avec un tête inhabituelle et la CHARLES DIX au revers alors que ces médailles ont habituellement CHARLES X.

Cette petite médaille est rare et n'a probablement pas été distribuée systématiquement aux survivants des massacres. On note qu’il existe deux coins de droit différents, faciles à distinguer par la fin de la titulature. Ce changement a été rendu nécessaire par la cassure du premier coin sous le buste. Il existe aussi deux coins de revers, l’un avec CHARLES X, l’autre avec CHARLES DIX..
