Ce denier est frappé sur un flan large et irrégulier présentant un petit manque de métal. Tache brune au droit. Reliefs plus nets au revers qu’au droit

Exemplaire semblant frappé avec les mêmes coins de droit et de revers que le n° 6834 de Fécamp. D’après Pierre Crinon, ce denier de poids lourd, peut appartenir aux règnes de Charles le Simple (898-923), de Robert (922-923) ou au début de celui de Raoul (923-936). Il appartient à la 2e série du premier groupe tel que définie par Pierre Crinon en 1997 (Journées numismatiques de Tours). Cet auteur recense seulement 4 exemplaires, tous frappés avec les mêmes coins de droit et de revers. Le coin de droit a été également utilisé pour une série de Tours-Orléans.

According to Pierre Crinon, this heavyweight denier may belong to the reigns of Charles the Simple (898-923), Robert (922-923) or the beginning of that of Raoul (923-936). It belongs to the 2nd series of the first group as defined by Pierre Crinon in 1997 (Journées numismatiques de Tours). This author lists only 4 examples, all struck with the same obverse and reverse dies. The obverse die was also used for a series of Tours-Orléans
