The Vernier collection housed in the Lille Museum, is the most important collection of Flemish coins in the world. In this volume, P. Bastien and J. Duplessy describe 203 gold coins from Flanders and 6 issued by Philippe le Bon for the Netherlands. All of them are reproduced on 15 plates of the highest quality. Each coin is described in detail, together with the ordinance for its issue and the number of copies struck. One may admire in this volume the most remarkable examples of medieval numismatic art.
