DECAY - satraps DECAY - Hecatomnus

(392-377 BC)

Hecatomnos, from Mylassa, succeeded Hyssaldomos, satrap of Caria in 395 BC the Persian fleet commander, he participated in operations during the conquest of Cyprus in 390 BC after the revolt of the king Salamis Evogoras I (411-373 BC). Hecatomnos remained in power for fifteen years Mylassa chosen as the capital of his satrapy. His eldest son, Mausolle, succeeded him to his death in 377 BC.
