Camirus was located on the western coast of the island of Rhodes. It was the most important city among the cities of the island with Ialysus and Lindus. The city maintained good relations with its neighbors, the proof with an archaic coinage of electrum and shows the vitality of the trade with the Ionian cities of the coasts of Western Asia.
