Exemplaire sur un flan ovale bien centré. Très beau buste massif de Caracalla. Revers de toute beauté. Magnifique patine de médaillier avec des reflets dorés. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Obverse description : Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Caracalla à droite, vu de trois quarts en arrière, les deux rubans de la couronne laurée descendant derrière la tête (A*2).
Obverse legend : AUT. KAI. AN-TwNINOS SE, (Autokrator Kaisar Antwninos Sebastos).
Obverse translation : (L'empereur césar Antonin auguste).

Reverse


Reverse description : Aigle debout à droite, les ailes déployées, la tête et la queue tournées à gauche, tenant dans son bec une couronne feuillée ; entre les pattes de l’aigle, le chariot du bétyl d’Astarté.
Reverse legend : DHMAR EX UPATOS D.

After the murder of Geta, Caracalla was the decree "Memoriae damnatio" his brother. The "Constitution Antoniniana" was promulgated in 212. All inhabitants of the Empire became Roman citizens. The following year, he began a campaign in Germany and won many victories over the Germans, and the Goths Iapyges. He received the title of "Germanicus". The end of the reign was marked by 215 monetary reform and the creation of the Antoninianus. Caracalla began a final campaign against the Parthians. He was assassinated after celebrating his vicennalia.
