Reverse description : Jupiter Victor nu jusqu'à la ceinture, trônant à gauche, tenant une victoriola de la main droite qui le couronne et un long sceptre vertical de la gauche ; à ses pieds, un aigle debout à gauche, détournant la tête.
Reverse translation : "Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia Potestate undevicesimum Consul quartum Pater Patriæ", (Grand pontife, revêtu de la dix-neuvième puissance tribunitienne consul pour la quatrième fois père de la patrie).

Commentary


Représentation inhabituelle pour Jupiter au revers. Ce type semble plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

After the murder of Geta, Caracalla was the decree "Memoriae damnatio" his brother. The "Constitution Antoniniana" was promulgated in 212. All inhabitants of the Empire became Roman citizens. The following year, he began a campaign in Germany and won many victories over the Germans, and the Goths Iapyges. He received the title of "Germanicus". The end of the reign was marked by 215 monetary reform and the creation of the Antoninianus. Caracalla began a final campaign against the Parthians. He was assassinated after celebrating his vicennalia.
