Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Très belle tête de Caracalla. Joli revers bien venu mis en valeur par la patine, de haut relief et de style fin. Belle patine de collection ancienne gris foncé avec des reflets dorés

Reverse description : Apollon nu debout à gauche, le manteau sur les épaules, tenant un rameau de la main droite et de la main gauche une lyre posée sur une base.
Reverse translation : “Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia Potestate duodevicesimum Consul quartum Pater Patriæ”, (Grand pontife revêtu de la dix-huitième puissance tribunitienne consul pour la quatrième fois père de la patrie).

Augustus
After Geta's assassination, Caracalla decreed the "damnatio memoriæ" of his brother. The "Constitution Antoniniana" was promulgated in 212. All the inhabitants of the Empire became Roman citizens. The following year he undertook a campaign in Germania and won numerous victories over the Germans, Iapyges and Goths. He received the title of "Germanicus". The end of the reign was marked in 215 by the Monetary Reform and the creation of the Antoninianus. Caracalla begins a final campaign against the Parthians. He is assassinated after having celebrated his vicennalia.
