Avec ces monogrammes dans le champ, ces pièces furent frappées en l’an 30, mais l’année n’est pas visible à l’exergue/e revers semble stylisé.

Ariobarzanes I was elected in 95 BC, his candidacy having been supported by the Romans. Cappadocia was occupied by the troops of Mithridates VI of Pontus and his son Ariarathes IX (101-87 BC) and the king often had to abandon his capital.
