Avec ces monogrammes dans le champ, ces pièces furent frappées en l’an 29 ou 30, mais l’année n’est pas visible à l’exergue.

(95-63 BC)

Ariobarzanes I was elected in 95 BC, his candidacy was supported by the Romans. Cappadocia was occupied by the troops of Mithridates VI of Pontus and his son Ariarathes IX (101-87 BC) and King often forced to abandon his capital. Having also had to fight Tigranes, king of Armenia, he abdicated in favor of his son in 63 BC.
