Exemplaire sur un flan large et bien centré des deux côtés, légèrement bombé. Très beau portrait du roi. Joli revers de style fin légèrement taché dans le champ à gauche. Patine de collection ancienne

(163-130 BC)

Ariarathes V, son of Ariarathes IV Eusebes succeeded his father in 163 BC He had to face several competitors during his reign, including Orophernes supported by Demetrius I of Syria. Ariarathes was restored with the help of the Romans. He died in 130 BC fighting against Aristonikos of Pergamon. Under his reign, the kingdom of Cappadocia allied with the Romans and the kingdom of Pergame reached its peak. The name of the capital changes to become Eusebeia.
