Exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait d’Ariarathes v. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

(163-130 BC)

Ariarathes V, son of Ariarathes Eusebes IV succeeded his father in 163 BC He had to face several competitors during his reign which Oropherne supported by Demetrius I of Syria. Ariarathes was restored with the Romans. He died in 130 BC while fighting against Aristonikos Pergamon. Under his reign, the kingdom of Cappadocia ally of the Romans and the Kingdom of Pergamon peaked. The name change to become the capital Eusebeia.
