Historical background

BURGUNDY - DUCHY OF BURGUNDY - EUDES IV

(1315-1349)

In June 1315, Eudes IV succeeded his brother Hugues V. Eudes IV was not one of the eleven lords authorized to mint coins in 1316, but he did not give up the minting, which caused him to be adjourned before the Parliament of Paris in 1321. Shortly after 1315, Eudes IV closed the Dijon mint and decided to strike only at Auxonne.
