Commentary

Bel exemplaire de cette médaille qui a été offerte à F. E. Ravault, conseiller municipal de la ville. Le baron Martineau des Chesnez, maire d’Auxerre, fait réaliser d’importants travaux d’aménagements qui concernent la voirie, le pavage ou la création de fontaines. Les eaux de la source Naudin sont amenées par une conduite en ciment du village de Vallan à Auxerre.
A fine example of this medal, which was presented to FE Ravault, the town councilor. Baron Martineau des Chesnez, mayor of Auxerre, commissioned major development work involving roads, paving, and the creation of fountains. The waters of the Naudin spring were brought by a cement pipe from the village of Vallan to Auxerre.
