Autonomous coinage in the name and type of Lysimachus

The coinage of Lysimachus did not stop with the death of the King in 281 BC but continued to be minted in Thrace and in the workshops of the Black Sea until the 1st century BC. Kios , the great port of the Propontis, an important commercial place, open to Asia Minor and Phrygia, already royal workshop of Lysimachus, continued to generate money after the death of the monarch.
