Historical background

BACTRIA - BACTRIAN KINGDOM - HELIOCLES

(145-130 BC)

Heliocles I was the last Greek king of Bactria. He succeeded his father Eucratides I after his assassination. Previously, his reign dates were set between 135 and 110 BC. Under his reign, he had to face the invasions of the Yuezhi steppe peoples who had already invaded the kingdom of Bactria. These nomads captured Ai Khanum.
